BP spins bit at second Suez well

BP will begin drilling on the NS377-3 development well later this week in Egypt’s Gulf of Suez North Shadwan concession.

NS377-3 will be an extended reach production well to be drilled from an onshore location, according to BP’s joint venture partner, Beach Petroleum.

The well is designed to intersect the offshore Kareem formation oil pool at about 150 metres north of the GH377-1 discovery well.

Meanwhile, BP has drilled the NS 394-3 offshore exploration well to a depth of 672 metres. The target depth of the well is 3475 metres.

The two wells lies in BP-operated North Shadwan concession. Beach holds 20% in the concession.
