In response to an electrical fire at its 430,000 barrel-per-day Whiting refinery in Indiana, bp stated that it had shut down some of its impacted units, Reuters reported.
In an email response to Reuters, bp stated that the fire has been put out and that it is still deciding when the impacted units will be restarted.
Additionally, there were no reported effects outside the refinery and no injuries.
Local media earlier in the day reported that an electrical fire forced the closure of a sector of bp’s Whiting refinery in the afternoon.
