Badawi Tours bp Headquarters to Discuss Future Operations in Egypt

As part of his visit to the UK, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Karim Badawi toured bp’s headquarters in Sunbury, accompanied by Moataz Atef, Undersecretary for the Minister’s Office and Technical Office Affairs, as well as the spokesperson for the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources (MoPMR).

The visit came in response to bp’s invitation to inspect the remote drilling service center, where the latest drilling technologies and the company’s future plans for its operations in Egypt were reviewed, and following the positive meeting between the President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and Murray Auchincloss, CEO of bp in Cairo.

The Minister and his accompanying delegation were received by Ann Davies, bp’s senior vice president for wells; Ariel Flores, bp’s Executive Vice President of Exploration and Development Activities; and Wail Shaheen, the company’s Vice President in Egypt. The meeting discussed the company’s activities and plans in the field of exploration and development of fields in Egypt.

These efforts come within the framework of the MoPMR’s strategy aimed at enhancing cooperation with international companies and attracting more investments, with the aim of increasing production rates and maximizing the added value of Egypt’s resources and infrastructure.
