BORAPETCO  is a joint venture between the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC) and United Energy Group (UEG). UEG operates in Egypt through United Energy Egypt (UEE) and its subsidiary Kuwait Energy (KEC), which together hold the Borg El Arab concession operated by BORAPETCO.

During the company’s general assembly meeting, El-Meihy reviewed operations across the Borg El Arab, East Abu Sennan, and West Wadi El-Natrun areas, highlighting strong operational performance supported by strategic investments in drilling, facility upgrades, and digital transformation initiatives.

Salah Abdel Kerim, CEO of EGPC, stressed the importance of intensifying the well-drilling program at Borg El Arab during the current fiscal year and accelerating studies to assess production from the Abu Roash formation. He also highlighted the need to advance energy-transition projects and establish a clear data-analysis system for safety performance to strengthen awareness and improve operational practices.

During the general assembly, Kamel Al-Sawi, Regional President of UEG, highlighted the company’s efforts to expand its presence in Egypt’s oil and gas sector and increase production by leveraging support from EGPC and the companies’ joint management and technical teams.

Al-Sawi said UEG wants to capitalize on available opportunities, intensify operational activities, and access new geological formations in cooperation with its partners.

In FY 2024/25, BORAPETCO  achieved 113% of its production target in the Borg El Arab fields, 103% in Abu Sennan, and 100% in West Wadi El Natrun.
