Bapetco Receives Award for Smart Green Projects Aligned with Egypt’s Vision 2030

Under the patronage of Badr El-Din Petroleum Company (Bapetco) Chairman and Managing Director Ashraf Abdel Gawad, along with the company’s General Manager and Managing Director Shamrendra Singh, Bapetco announced receiving an award at the National Initiative for Smart Green Projects in Matrouh. The award recognized Bapetco’s participation in two pioneering projects that reflect the company’s commitment to adopting environmentally friendly solutions.
This achievement aligns fully with Egypt’s Vision 2030 and is part of the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources’ environmental and sustainability strategy.
One of the projects focused on treating and re-injecting the associated water from oil and gas production, aiming to reduce the environmental impact by treating and re-injecting water and disposing of 100% of the associated water in a sustainable manner.
The second project aimed to reduce flare gases and carbon emissions. The company succeeded in reducing flare gases by 55%, methane gas by 57%, and greenhouse gases by 42%, thereby significantly lowering carbon emissions. Additionally, diesel consumption was reduced by 31%.
The award was received on behalf of Badr El-Din Petroleum Company by Engineer Eman El-Gamal and Engineer Ahmed Amir from Lieutenant General Ahmed Khaled, Governor of Alexandria, Dr. Jacqueline Azar, Governor of Beheira, Major General Khaled Shuaib, Governor of Matrouh, Dr. Hesham El-Helbawy, Assistant Minister of Local Development, and Dr. Ahmed Rizk, Executive Director of the United Nations Human Settlements Programme Office in Egypt, during the Smart Green Projects Initiative for the governorates of Alexandria, Matrouh, and Beheira.
This award reflects confidence in the company’s ability to deliver innovative and sustainable solutions that integrate operational efficiency with environmental preservation, the company said in a statement.
