Bahrain disclosed that it seeks to import at least five or six cargoes of liquefied natural gas (LNG) in 2025 to meet the rising demand during summer, Bloomberg reported citing Mark Thomas, CEO of Nogaholding, which manages the country’s oil and gas infrastructure.
During the Middle East Petroleum Gas Conference, he added that the country may need the first cargo of LNG in 2023 to check its infrastructure and plans to buy three to five cargoes in 2024.
Additionally, this need of supply came due to Bahrain’s plans to develop new, gas-dependent industries to improve its growth.
In the meantime, Bahrain is working with two international oil companies on exploration of unconventional offshore gas fields, said Thomas.
