Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Karim Badawi, convened a meeting to assess the progress of the national initiative for converting vehicles to run on compressed natural gas (CNG).
The meeting focused on evaluating the status of both operational and under-construction CNG fueling stations.
The meeting also reviewed the latest CNG conversion statistics and outlined future plans to address the increasing demand from citizens opting for CNG due to its economic benefits compared to gasoline and diesel.
In addition to offering significant cost savings for consumers, the shift to CNG helps reduce the nation’s reliance on imported petroleum products, thereby easing fiscal pressures on the state budget.
