Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Karim Badawi held a meeting to discuss the strategy of Petrojet’s operations during the next period and explore the means for local and international expansion.
At the opening of the meeting, Badawi emphasized the importance of adhering to the health, safety and environment (HSE) measures and conditions as one of the codes of ethics for petroleum workers.
He emphasized the need to develop a rapid action plan to drive growth in Petrojet’s operations both domestically and internationally. This includes diversifying the company’s activities to encompass participation in renewable energy projects and water desalination plants, areas in which Egypt is currently expanding. Additionally, the plan should prioritize green initiatives in the petroleum sector, such as replacing diesel with solar energy at production sites.
The Minister also emphasized the importance of regional expansion in the upcoming period, which requires broadening strategic partnerships, both with national companies in Arab and African countries and with international firms investing in new projects in those regions. These efforts will open up additional opportunities for Petrojet to participate in implementing new projects outside of Egypt.
Badawi expressed his full support for Petrojet’s expansion efforts, both domestically and internationally, encouraging integration with other ministries, governmental agencies, countries, and international companies. He also thanked Petrojet for its outstanding contributions to project implementation.
The Minister highlighted the importance of advancing this plan swiftly, leveraging Petrojet’s technical, human, and technological capabilities to maximize its potential.
During the meeting, Petrojet Chairman Waleed Lotfy, along with his team, presented the company’s role in the sector, emphasizing its capabilities as the key implementation and manufacturing arm for oil and gas projects in Egypt. Petrojet is also a major partner in national infrastructure, industry, and energy projects, including roads, tunnels, silos, power stations, and more.
Lotfy further reviewed the company’s capabilities, which include local manufacturing centers for petroleum and infrastructure project equipment, covering various regions of Egypt. In addition to pipe packaging factories and a concrete plant, Petrojet also operates manufacturing centers in Iraq and plans to expand with new centers in Saudi Arabia and Algeria, in response to the growing business opportunities in those countries.
