Badawi Meets New Egyptian Ambassadors to Highlight Investment Opportunities

At the headquarters of the Foreign Affairs Ministry in the New Administrative Capital, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Karim Badawi has met with a group of new Egyptian Ambassadors to countries worldwide.

The open meeting with the Ambassadors was aimed at informing them of possible aspects of cooperation and investment opportunities in the oil, gas, mining, and green hydrogen Sectors.

Badawi pointed out the new measures and incentive package launched by the Ministry to encourage investment partners in the field of oil and gas upstream operations to inject more investments, to increase production to raise the confidence of investors and partners of international oil companies (IOCs) operating in the Egyptian Petroleum Sector.

The Minister explained the state’s efforts in the green hydrogen industry and its derivatives, pointing out the importance of the step taken by the state to establish a National Council for Green Hydrogen headed by Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly, as a unified body in this field.

Badawi mentioned that the mining industry in Egypt has distinct components, stressing that there are steps underway to amend gold exploitation contracts to keep pace with international practices and to attract new international companies to invest in this industry.

The Minister called on Egypt’s ambassadors to communicate with international companies in the countries in which they represent Egypt to highlight the potential and opportunities in the oil and gas sector and encourage them to invest.

Badawi also urged the ambassadors to shed light abroad on the capabilities of distinguished Egyptian companies in project implementation work, most of which have long experience and expertise in working abroad.
