Karim Badawi, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, has issued a reshuffle involving leadership positions in information and communications technology (ICT) and information systems (IS) departments at the ministry and some petroleum sector companies.
Karim Solyman was appointed General Manager of Information Systems and Digital Transformation General Department at the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources (MoPMR). Solyman began his career as an engineer at Suez Oil Company (SUCO) in 2004 and progressed through several positions until becoming General Manager at the ministry’s Decision Support Systems, Digital Transformation Department in 2023.
Basem Mohamed Hamed was appointed General Manager of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) at Belayim Petroleum Company (Petrobel). He began his career in the sector as an engineer at Agiba Petroleum Company in 1998 and rose through several roles until he became General Manager of ICT at Khalda Petroleum Company in 2020.
Khaled Salah El Din was appointed Assistant Chairman for ICT at Egyptian Maintenance Company (EMC). He began his career in the sector as a technology specialist at EMC in 1999 and rose through the ranks until becoming Assistant Chairman for Communication and Information Technology, and Digital Transformation at MoPMR in 2023.
Mohammed Helmy was appointed General Manager of ICT for Business Support at Khalda Petroleum Company. He started his career as an engineer at SUCO in 2004 and rose through the ranks until he became Advisor to the Assistant to the Deputy CEO for ICT at Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company (EGAS) in 2024.
Manar Mohamed Helal was appointed General Manager of ICT at Alamein Petroleum Company. She began her career in the sector as an engineer at Engineering for the Petroleum and Process Industries (ENPPI) in 2007 and progressed through several roles until becoming Assistant General Manager at the ministry’s General Department for Information Systems and Digital Transformation in 2024.
