Amreya Petroleum Refining Company (APRC) plans to distill 3.9 million tons of crude oil during fiscal year (FY) 2018/2019, Egypt Oil & Gas reports.
The company will “produce 79,600 tons of butane, 560,000 tons of 80-octane benzene, around 1.14 million tons of mazut, 332,000 tons of naphtha, 111,200 tons of asphalt, and 83,000 tons of basic and private oils,” APRC’s Head, Ali Badr, disclosed.
“The company further plans to produces crude and paraffin waxes, medical oils, and toluene to cover the needs of lubricating oils complexes in refineries,” he added.
This came during the general assembly chaired by Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Tarek El Molla, in order to review the company’s budget plan.
El Molla pointed out the importance of the continuity of developing the Egyptian refineries to increase their capacities and to secure a huge part of the local market’s demands of petroleum products, decreasing imports.
