Alexandria Petroleum Company (APC) and the Egyptian Projects Operation and Maintenance company (EPROM) have signed a deal to create a 3D model using laser scanning technology for all the company’s units and facilities, according to a statement.
The technology will be used on distillation areas, the company’s facilities, warehouses, and external areas, in addition to conducting 3D scanning for all files, documents, and maps. The agreement comes in line with the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources’ plan to develop the sector and increase refineries efficiency.
Per the agreement, EPROM will provide training for the youth cadres and workers while implementing modern technology. The deal entails utilizing digital twinning, 3D scanning, and technologically advanced cameras.
The deal expands the scope of cooperation between the two companies, as Alexandria Petroleum implements new investment projects and develops the Alexandria Petroleum refinery. On the other hand, EPROM provides operational, maintenance, and technical support services for production units.
Medhat Bahgat, APC’s Head of the Board of Directors stated that the agreement is pivotal for the development of refineries.
