Alexandria Mineral Oil Company (AMOC) has received ISO 50001:2018 certificate for energy management systems, which aims to rationalize energy consumption and in line with international standards, according to Al-Mal.
The achievement is also considered a step-up in case of any future deals with the company requiring it to meet the European Union standards. The company is currently seeking to obtain quality certificate ISO 17025: 2017 for testing and calibration laboratories, AMOC is also updating OHSAS 18001 to match the latest version of ISO 45001in 2020.
The company aims to achieve various goals of energy management through rationalizing consumption. Economically speaking, this will result in reducing production costs and increasing revenues, as well as preserving the environment by reducing the carbon footprint.
Furthermore, in line with the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources’ digital transformation plan, AMOC is currently developing a CMT coding system, key performance indicator (KPI) tracking system, and implementing an enterprise resource planning (ERP) system.
