In a statement made to Egypt Oil & Gas, EGPC Vice Executive Chairman for Operations, Amr Mostafa said that the company is increasing the quantities of gasoline supplied to the governorates of Sohag and Qena by an additional 25%.
Currently the two governorates are consuming at above normal rates, and a boost in supply will resolve the traffic jams at fuel stations.
Mostafa explained that the overcrowding in Sohag has begun to gradually shrink, hoping that the same results can be achieved in Qena.
He said that a shipment of 300,000 tons of 95 octane fuel arrived in the port of Suez, with the express intended of resolving the traffic jams in Upper Egypt.
