Mozambique will gain $350m in capital taxes from Eni after the Italian oil and gas company agreed to sell a stake in a gas field to ExxonMobil Corporation.
The United Kingdom’s net revenues from taxes levied on oil and gas companies operating on or near the North Sea turned negative for the first time since records began in 1968.
UK Chancellor George Osborne has offered further tax relief for Britain’s oil and gas industry. The tax changes are expected to save the industry around $1.4b in the five financial years from 2016/2017 to 2020/2021.
