Interpipe announces a 13.3% shipment growth of pipes

Interpipe has recorded 11.8% growth in shipment volumes of pipes and wheels in the first six months of 2007 against the same period last year. The growth in the number of pipes shipped totaled 13.3 % (total volume – 638,000 tons) and the amount of wheels shipped grew 4.5 % (115,700 tons shipped).

Gazprom to reduce gas supplies to Belarus unless bill is paid

In the latest of its many disputes over payments with neighboring countries, the Russian energy giant Gazprom said that it would reduce natural gas supplies to Belarus starting this Friday, unless the former Soviet state paid an outstanding gas bill of $456 million before that time.

Aabar sells drilling services unit to focus on E&P

Aramco plans to add half million bpd to output capacity

Devon begins production at Polvo Field Offshore Brazil

Devon Energy has commenced production from its Polvo oil field in Brazil. Polvo was discovered in 2004. It is located on block BM-C-8 in the Campos Basin offshore Rio de Janeiro in approximately 300 feet of water. Gross production is expected to peak by the end of 2008 at approximately 50,000 barrels of oil per day.

The Repsol YPF, Sonatrach, RWE Dea and Edison International consortium announces the discovery of gas from a deep well with a depth of 5,116 meters in the Reggane North region, Block 351c and 352.

Gulfsands successfully tests Khurbet East discovery

Gulfsands Petroleum has successfully drilled and tested the first appraisal well on the Group's Khurbet East discovery on Block 26 in Syria, the Khurbet East – 2 (KHE-2) well. An open-hole drill-stem test produced oil to surface at rates up to 1,085 barrels of oil per day (bopd).

CNPC takes Sudan block

Sudan has signed a deal with China National Petroleum Corporation to take a majority stake in Block 13 in the Red Sea. CNPC has a 40% stake, 15% for both Indonesian state company and Sudanese state oil outfit Sudapet.
