Oil India Joins Sonatrach to acquire 4 Blocks in Libya

Oil India Limited has recently signed an Exploration and Production Sharing Agreement with the National Oil Corporation of Libya, along with its consortium partners Sonatrach, the National Oil Company of Algeria and another Oil PSU, Indian Oil Corporation to acquire four exploration blocks in Libya.

Gaz de France, Hoegh Partner for the Triton Offshore LNG Project

Gaz de France and Hoegh LNG AS have signed a Joint Development Agreement related to the design, the construction supervision and the operation of a vessel used as a Floating Storage and Regasification Unit (FSRU-vessel). Thanks to this partnership, the most up to date technology will be brought to the Triton project, an offshore LNG project developed by Gaz de France in the Adriatic sea, at about 30 km off the Marche region shore, in Italy.

SAUDI KAYAN signs US$6 billion financing agreements for world’s largest integrated petrochemical complex

An affiliate of the Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (SABIC), the Saudi Kayan Petrochemical Company (SAUDI KAYAN) entered into US$6 billion (Saudi Riyal 22.5 billion) financing arrangements for 15 years with a group of banks and financial institutions to finance part of the cost of its new complex in Jubail Industrial City. The complex will be the world's largest integrated petrochemical complex.

Gulfsands Completes First Horizontal Well in Khurbet East Field

Gulfsands Petroleum has completed the drilling operations on the first horizontal development well within the Khurbet East Field (KHE-5H). The KHE-5H well, which flowed oil to surface at an average rate of 2041 barrels of oil per day (bopd) through a 3/8" choke, has been completed and suspended as the fourth oil producer for connection through the Early Production Facility (EPF), scheduled to commence operation by the fourth quarter of 2008.
