Aminex announces Northwest Tanan-1 well result

Aminex PLC, the oil and gas company listed in London and Dublin, announces that the NW Tanan-1 exploration well on the West esh el Mellahah concession in Egypt (WEEM) has reached basement at a depth of 2,357 metres with well logs indicating that no hydrocarbons were encountered. The well will now be plugged and abandoned and the rig temporarily released pending evaluation of the well and integration with existing 3D seismic.

BP-Egypt & AGR successfully complete the first use of RMR technology on a Jack-Up Rig

BP-Egypt utilized AGR’s RMR technology onboard the Jack-up rig Constellation II on the Rahamat-1 well in the Mediterranean Sea. On the top-hole drilling campaign, AGR’s RMR system pumped the drilling fluid and cuttings from an outlet in the conductor 10ft above sea level with returns to the rig for recirculation.

Beach on a roll with new funds

Beach Petroleum is set to cement expansion plans that may add a potential 8 million barrels of oil reserves to its books next year after the Australian outfit successfully raised A$191 million (US$183 million) with a share placement.

Dana, Gaz de France Strike Gas in Egypt

The WEB-1X well is the first drilled by the Dana Petroleum and Gaz de France partnership at the West El Burullus (WEB) production sharing contract area within the prolific Nile Delta region, in the Mediterranean Sea offshore Egypt. The well was drilled by the jackup rig Ocean Spur.

Beach Petroleum: acquisition of interest in North Shadwan concession

Beach Petroleum reports that it has entered into an agreement with Tri-Ocean Energy Company under which, subject to the approval of the Government of the Arab Republic of Egypt, Beach will acquire a 20% interest in the North Shadwan Concession in the Gulf of Suez at a cost of US$110 million. Completion of the agreement is also subject to the waiver of pre-emptive rights by another Joint Venture party and the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation.

Saipem has been awarded two new offshore contracts in Egypt and Angola worth a total value of about USD 600 million.

Beach Petroleum acquires interest in Gulf of Suez concession

Beach Petroleum reports that it has entered into an agreement with Santos Egypt Pty Ltd under which, subject to waiver of pre-emptive rights by the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation and the approval of the Government of the Arab Republic of Egypt, Beach will acquire, via a farmin arrangement, a 20% interest in the South East July concession, in the Gulf of Suez, offshore Egypt.
