bp Shares Updates on New Mediterranean Region Discoveries

Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Karim Badawi met with bP’s Executive Vice President for Gas and Low Carbon Energy, William Lin, along with other bp officials, to talk about the company's business progress, its investments plans in Egypt, and the development of its new two major discoveries in the Mediterranean region.

Egypt, Capricorn Energy Talk Upstream Future Plans

Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Karim Badawi, met with Randy Neely, CEO of Capricorn Energy PLC, and Eleanor Rowley, the company's Managing Director in Egypt, in the presence of Salah Abdel Kerim, Chairman of the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC). The meeting discussed the company's activities in its concession areas in the Western Desert of Egypt and its future plans to intensify upstream activities.

GPC Operates Modern Drilling Rigs in Eastern Desert, To Drill 75 Oil Wells in One Year

The General Petroleum Company (GPC) has started operating the first of three modern 1,000-horsepower drilling rigs, provided by the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC), to intensify drilling operations at the Gharib producing oilfields in the Eastern Desert, as part of the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources' strategy to increase domestic production. GPC is currently implementing an intensive drilling program, supported and supervised by EGPC, aimed at drilling 75 wells within 12 months. This is expected to add about 7,500 barrels per day (bbl/d) and increase the total production of Ras Gharib fields to 9,000 bbl/d, driven by the efforts of GPC’s engineers and technicians.

Technip Energies Outlines Plans for SAF, Green Hydrogen in Egypt

Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Karim Badawi, met with Marco Villa, the Chief Business Officer (CBO) of the Italian company Technip Energies, and his accompanying delegation. They were joined by Khaled El Badry, the Ministry's Undersecretary for Projects. The meeting discussed the company's activities in Egypt and its plans for the coming period.

Badawi Expands Cooperation with Huawei on Digital Transformation, Clean Energy

The Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Karim Badawi, met with a delegation from Huawei, led by Senior Vice President of Huawei and President of Global Marketing, Sales, and Services, Huawei Digital Power, Charles Yang, to explore means to enhance cooperation in areas such as digital transformation, clean energy, and hydrogen.

Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Karim Badawi met with Mathios Rigas, Chairman and CEO of Energean, and Nicolas Katcharov, CEO and Chairman of Energean International E&P SpA, to discuss advancing cooperation between Egypt's petroleum sector and Energean's concession areas for natural gas production in the Mediterranean Sea.

Ministers of Petroleum, Environment, Civil Aviation Advance Coordination on ESAF Project

The Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Karim Badawi, held a joint meeting with the Minister of Environment, Yasmine Fouad, and Minister of Civil Aviation, Sameh El-Hefny, to explore coordination mechanisms among the three ministries to produce sustainable aviation fuel (SAF)–a project implemented by the Egyptian Petrochemicals Holding Company (ECHEM) as part of the ministry's green strategy.

ESAF, a $530 million investment project, is expected to produce 120,000 tons of SAF annually, utilizing advanced hydrotreatment technologies.
