Badawi Highlights Egypt’s Mining Opportunities at ADU Conference

Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Karim Badawi took part in the opening of the Africa Down Under (ADU) Mining and Energy Conference in Perth, Australia. Running from 3 to 5 September, the event is the leading platform for trade and investment ties in the mining sector between Africa and Australia, and has been the largest African mining gathering held outside the continent since its launch in 2003.

Badawi Inspects ENPPI’s Abu Dhabi Branch Following Cooperation Agreement

During his visit to the UAE, Karim Badawi, the Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, inspected the headquarters of the Engineering for the Petroleum and Process Industries (ENPPI) company branch in UAE capital Abu Dhabi. This followed the signing of a cooperation agreement in mining and finance with the Emirati International Resources Holding Company (IRH).

Egypt Gas Net Profit Rises in H1 2025

Egypt Gas has reported higher net profits after taxes of EGP 209.18 million in the first half (H1) of 2025, compared to EGP 167.61 million in H1 of 2024, according to the Egyptian Exchange.

PPC Completes EGP 3.3Bn Projects to Enhance Energy Security

Petroleum Pipelines Company (PPC) has completed the SCADA system for automated monitoring, control, and early detection of pipeline leaks. The system protects pipelines from tampering and theft, said Haggag Rabie, the company’s chairman. The project is one in a package of projects recently undertaken by the company to replace, renew, and increase the efficiency of petroleum product pipelines nationwide. A key objective of these projects was to secure the necessary fuel supplies for electricity plants as the primary consumers. The total cost of these projects amounted to EGP 3.3 billion.

TAQA Arabia Board Reviews Zafarana Energy Project, LNG Prospects in Tanzania

The board of directors of TAQA Arabia, Egypt’s leading private sector energy and utility provider, held a meeting recently via video conference to approve the company's management presentation for the second quarter investment plans, according to the company's disclosure to the Egyptian stock exchange  During the meeting, the board reviewed the latest developments of the Zafarana solar energy project, implemented under a memorandum of understanding signed with the Ministry of Electricity in 2024. The project is Egypt's first and largest solar-powered desalination plant. The board also reviewed the potential of investing in Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) projects in Tanzania.

ASORC Posts 127% Hike in Profits 2024/25,Refines 3.1 M Tons crude Oil

Assiut Oil Refining Company (ASORC)‏ processed over 3.1 million tons of crude oil maximizing its production of high-value petroleum products during fiscal year (FY) 2024/25, ASORC Chairman Mahmoud Nagy said.

Egypt and Sudan Explore Mining Cooperation

Egypt and Sudan explored avenues for cooperation in the mining and value-added industries in a meeting between Karim Badawi, Egyptian Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources; Nour El-Daim Taha, the Sudanese Minister of Minerals; and Omar El-Farouq, the Sudanese Deputy Ambassador to Cairo, and representatives from leading Sudanese mining companies and institutions.
