Egypt Leverages Western Australia’s Expertise to Boost Mining Sector

During his visit to Perth in Western Australia, Karim Badawi, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, met with David Michael, Minister of Mines and Petroleum in the Government of Western Australia, to discuss expanding cooperation and leveraging Australian expertise to support the development of Egypt’s mining sector. The visit also included the signing of a Letter of Intent between the Egyptian Mineral Resources and Mining Industries Authority and Murdoch University to build the capabilities of Egyptian mining professionals through advanced Australian training programs.

Iman Hill to Lead Egypt Oil & Gas Committee Through Operational Restructuring

Iman Hill, Country Manager and Managing Director of Vaalco Energy Egypt, has been appointed Chairwoman of the Egypt Oil and Gas Committee, effective December 11—the set date for EOG2025 convention. The announcement was made during the Committee’s Executive Board meeting on November 24, which also witnessed the launch of a comprehensive restructuring of the committee’s operational framework.

Energean Egypt’s Assets Reports “Excellent Performance” in 9m 2025

Energean, the international energy company focused on natural gas exploration and production, announced that its Egyptian assets showed “an excellent performance” during the first nine months of 2025 with production of 29,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day (boe/d), according to its latest trading update report. The strong Egyptian performance offset the effect of a decline in production at the company's interest in the Cassiopea Field, Italy.

EGPC, ExxonMobil Sign Agreement to Boost Fuel Transport Safety

The Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC) has signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with ExxonMobil Egypt. The MoU is to enhance risk management, operational safety, and training across Egypt’s fuel transportation and distribution system.

According to a statement by the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources (MoPMR), the MoU was signed in a meeting attended by Salah Abdel Kerim, EGPC Chairman, and Sherif Serag El Din, ExxonMobil Egypt’s Vice Chairman and Managing Director. 

ENPPI Secures MEED ‘Project of the Year’ for North Safa Offshore Field

EGPC's CEO called for an increase in investments to support higher production rates. He also underscored the importance of developing the skills of young employees to prepare them for future leadership roles through continuous technical and personal training.
