The fourth edition of the Egypt International Mining Forum is set to take place on July 15-16 at The Nile Ritz-Carlton in Cairo to explore the challenges, opportunities, and strategies needed to position Egypt as a leading global mining hub. It will host ministers, policymakers, major local and international companies, and investors leading the mining industry.

Saipem’s Drilling Technology to Unlock Additional 115 mmcf/d in Zohr Production

The offshore drilling rig Saipem 10000 completed sidetrack drilling operations at the Zohr-6 well, adding approximately 60 million cubic feet of natural gas per day (mmcf/d) to current production levels, according to a statement by the Ministry of Petroleum and Mining Resources (MoMPR).

This development aligns with MoMPR's strategy aimed at increasing domestic production and ensuring the coverage of the needs of different sectors from energy sources.

EGAS Awards 6 Blocks to International Companies to Boost Exploration

The Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company (EGAS) has awarded six new blocks to several international companies to maximize exploration investments. The investments injected are estimated at $245 million, and at least 13 new exploratory wells are expected to be drilled during the exploration period. This is part of the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources' plan and strategy to attract new exploration investments and boost current production efforts.

Ganope Signs 2D Seismic Survey Project Agreement with Ardiseis

Ganoub El Wadi Petroleum Holding Company's (Ganope) signed a new agreement with the Egyptian Branch of the Saudi company Ardiseis, a subsidiary of Arabian Geophysical and Surveying Company (Argas), in presence of Karim Badawi, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources. The agreement aims to implement a 2D seismic survey project in areas of the Southern Western Desert using advanced land node technology, with operations scheduled to begin in the coming weeks. This comes in light of the significant development in Egyptian-Saudi relations in the petroleum and mining sectors.

PETROJET, ENPPI To Finance Abu Tartour Phosphoric Acid Production Plant

During an extraordinary session, the ordinary general assemblies of the Petroleum Projects and Technical Consultations Company PETROJET and the Engineering for the Petroleum and Process Industries (ENPPI) approved participation in financing the phosphoric acid production plant project in the Abu Tartour plateau, New Valley.

Ganope, Lukoil Seal Concession Agreement for E&P in South Wadi Al-Sahl

Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Karim Badawi oversaw the signing of a new oil exploration and production (E&P) concession agreement in the South Wadi Al-Sahl area of the Eastern Desert. The agreement was officially signed by Ganoub El Wadi Petroleum Holding Company's (Ganope) and Russia's Lukoil Overseas Egypt Limited. Its collaborative work program outlines a 3D seismic survey covering an area of 200 square kilometers, alongside the drilling of six exploratory wells during the initial exploration phases.

Minister Badawi Oversees Progress of Energos Power FSRU for Egypt’s Gas Grid

Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Karim Badawi conducted an inspection tour at the "Tahya Misr" berth in the Alexandria Port to check the progress of the "Energos Power" Floating Storage and Regasification Unit’s (FSRU) preparation, before its move to Ain Sokhna Port for connection to its dedicated berth.

EGPC Committee Inspects Fuel Stations Across Egypt

The Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC) carried out oversight efforts and campaigns across the country through its Central Committee for Monitoring Product Circulation and its geographically dispersed sub-committees to track the movement and circulation of petroleum products and seize any violations or illegal attempts to dispose of or smuggle subsidized products.
