Wintershall DEA Considers Exiting Libya

Wintershall DEA considers exiting Libya following a disagreement with the Libyan National Oil Corporation (NOC) over licenses, the German press reported according to Reuters.

The German company’s management reportedly met with a representative from the German Ministry of Economy to discuss whether or not Wintershall DEA should continue operations in the North African country.

It was previously reported that a number of international oil companies (IOCs) plan to renew their business licenses to continue operations in Libya. About 40 firms came recently saw the suspensions of their expired licenses, however, the Libyan Ministry of Oil allowed in June a three-month grace period for renewals.
