UEEPC to Buy Electricity from Infinity Solar

Infinity Solar signed a contract to sell the power produced by its 1MW solar power plant in 6th of October City to the Upper Egypt Electricity Production Company (UEEPC), Daily News Egypt reported.

According to Infinity Solar’s Investment Manager, Taymor Aboul Kheir, the power plant was established at a cost of EGP 20m and was implemented in 5.189 acres over three weeks.

Kheir also pointed out that Infinity Solar signed the power purchase agreement with UEEPC at the price of the first feed-in tariff scheme, at 13.6 cents per KWh.

The company’s General Manager, Ahmed Shams, said that the plant uses 1,144 solar panels to put out 1MW and is expected to operate efficiently for 25 years.

Shams futher noted that Infinity Solar aims at implementing more electricity projects in the second phase of the feed-in tariff program, where it is currently studying the feasibility of establishing a 3MW solar power plant in Upper Egypt.
