TotalEnergies, ADNOC Ink Strategic Partnership Agreement

In order to deepen their long-standing relationship and explore new opportunities for growth, Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) and TotalEnergies have signed a strategic partnership agreement.

It was signed by Ahmed Al Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology and Managing Director and Group CEO of ADNOC, and Patrick Pouyanné, Chairman and CEO of TotalEnergies.

The agreement provides an opportunity for ADNOC and TotalEnergies to collaborate in areas of mutual interest, such as gas growth, carbon capture, utilization, and storage (CCUS), and trading and product supply.

Al Jaber said: “TotalEnergies is a longstanding strategic partner and we are very pleased to build on our successful partnerships through this agreement as the UAE and France strengthen energy cooperation.”

Since 1939, TotalEnergies has been a significant international partner for ADNOC in the oil and gas sector.

Pouyanné said: “I am pleased that TotalEnergies is reaffirming and expanding its strategic collaboration with the United Arab Emirates through a multi-energy cooperation with ADNOC, our long-standing partner in the UAE.”

A strategic partnership agreement between the UAE and France was signed following the signing of the UAE-France Comprehensive Strategic Energy Partnership (CSEP), which seeks to enhance energy security, energy affordability, decarbonization, and climate action ahead of COP28 (28th Session of the Conference of the Parties).

ADNOC currently works with TotalEnergies across all stages of the oil and gas value chain, from oil and gas exploration, development, and production to gas processing, liquefaction, marketing, and R&D.
