Total Egypt to Construct 220 Solar Power Plants

Total Egypt has assigned Complete Energy Solutions (CES) to prepare a feasibility study for the establishment of 220 solar power plants with capacities varying between 60 kilowatts and 200 kilowatts per plant, Daily News Egypt reports.

“The feasibility study of the projects will be completed by 2020,” Business Development Manager at CES, Mohamed Al-Haddad, stated, adding that the study will cover all the aspects required for the construction of the solar power plants.

Total Egypt, which is targeting to establish nine new gas stations in Alexandria, the Delta, and Cairo during 2018, plans to expand its activities beyond stations. “The company continues to establish service stations according to the highest European standards for building and operating the stations so that they offer super quality products to customers,” said Managing Director of Total Egypt, Ian LePetit. “In the coming three years, the company plans to invest in the fields of refining, distribution, exploration, and solar energy,” he added.

CES is a specialized Engineering, Procurement, and Construction company, which has several solar energy solutions and systems that suite for all areas. CES has opened a solar power plant with 20MW capacity for Masdar Clean Energy Company. The new plant is located in Toshka area with investments up to $25 million, Al-Haddad pointed out.
