Thyssenkrupp Appoints New CEO for MENA

Germany-based Thyssenkrupp Industrial Solutions has appointed Boris van Thiel as its new CEO of the MENA regional cluster, reported Trade Arabia.

“To achieve growth in a heterogeneous MENA market subject to sharp fluctuations, we need to set priorities for markets, portfolio segments, customers, staff requirements, and office locations,” said van Thiel.

According to Construction Week, van Thiel had previously led the company’s MENA business unit for process technologies.

“Through a network of local partners and our existing offices in Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Morocco we can respond quickly and flexibly to customer inquiries. By establishing implementation hubs in Egypt and Saudi Arabia, we are continuously improving our regional competitiveness,” van Thiel added.

Thyssenkrupp is a leading provider of engineering, construction, and services for industrial plants and systems, and in the 2014-2015 fiscal year, it has generated sales of $1.7b (€1.6b) in the MENA region, ConstructionWeek informed.
