South Africa will start production from its first fuel cell component plant in December 2017 to accommodate the rising demand for clean energy cars in the country, reported Reuters.
The new plant will produce fuel cells using platinum as a catalyst to clean up car emissions. According to BusinessTech, this will affirm South Africa’s position as the world’s top platinum producer.
Isondo was looking at venture capital funds and other investors to help to raise around $9m needed over the next two years to expand its production line.
