Algerian national oil company Sonatrach attended a meeting held by Russian oil transportation company Transneft Diascan to discuss improvements to Algeria’s oil infrastructure, according to Hydrocarbon Engineering.

The parties discussed composite collar repair on Algerian pipelines as well as implementing specific in-line inspection (ILI) projects, which utilize non-destructive examination techniques to detect and quantify internal damage to pipelines.

The two companies signed a memorandum of understanding in October 2017 for cooperation on exploration, production, transportation, refining and sales of hydrocarbons in Algeria, World Pipelines reported.
