Algeria’s state-owned company, SONATRACH, declared that it managed to control a natural gas leak quickly and successfully, according to a press release.

The leak occurred at a natural gas injector well, 30 kilometers (km) north of Hassi-Messaoud.

“No human damage has been recorded and no impact on the environment has been observed,” noted SONATRACH.

SONATRACH is the leading group of hydrocarbons in Africa. For more than 50 years, the company has been a locomotive of Algeria’s national economy. The company’s main mission is to enhance the large hydrocarbon reserves of Algeria.
