France’s Schneider Electric was contracted to supply and install all the electrical equipment of nine factories in the phosphate fertilizers complex in Ain Sokhna, according to Daily News Egypt.
Additionally, the Head of Industries in Egypt and Africa, Mohamed Shaheen, said that El Nasr for Intermediate Chemicals awarded the executive works to three contractors from China, Spain, and Italy.
The total cost of the project is estimated at EGP12b. It is composed of nine different fertilizer factories that produce different types of fertilizers used to enrich the soil and increase the yield per acre.
Furthermore, it is set to provide 2,000 direct jobs and 15,000 indirect jobs, as well as 4,000 jobs during constructions.
The project also includes the establishment of a maritime quay for exporting products through the Ain Sokhna port and a water desalination plant to provide water to all industrial activities.
The project aims to cover the local market’s fertilizer needs and export the surplus production. The total capacity of all nine factories amounts to 1m tons/y of phosphate, compound, and dap fertilizers, as well as commercial and pure phosphoric acid.
