In collaboration with As-Salam hospital, Schlumberger hosted its annual breast cancer awareness event. The event took place at the new Cairo branch of the As-Salam hospital and started by a tour of this new facility.

After the tour, the awareness session started with an opening speech delivered by Sherif Bayoumy, Managing Director – Schlumberger in Egypt, Sudan and East Mediterranean.

He welcomed the Schlumberger team and their families and emphasized the message that breast cancer early detection is key. “Raising awareness about breast cancer is the very purpose of this annual event,” Bayoumy stated.

Following the opening note, Dr. Emad Shash , Medical Director Breast Comprehensive Cancer Hospital, National Cancer Institute, Cairo University delivered an informative session highlighting breast cancer’s risk factors, self-examination steps as well as some facts about the disease before opening the floor to a Q&A session. The team was, then, offered a general medical checkup and a networking session concluded the event.
