SCA Records Highest Monthly Revenues of $704M

The Chairman of Suez Canal Authority (SCA) Osama Rabie announced that Suez Canal recorded its highest monthly revenues in July 2022 reaching $704 million which is the highest per month compared to $531.8 million in July 2021.

According to the statistics, SCA recorded the highest rates of ships passing through the canal per month reaching 2,103 ships versus 1,670 ships in July 2021 with net loadings of 125.1 million tons compared to 105.8 million tons in July 2021.

Rabie elaborated that there are various types of ships that passed through the canal during July 2022, 60.2% of them were petroleum tankers which achieved the highest revenues from petroleum tankers per month that reached $153 million.

31% of these ships were liquified natural gas (LNG) tankers which recorded the highest revenues from LNG tankers per month of $52 million, Rabie added.
