Sova Capital and BCS brokerages said that Rosneft company plans to sell some of its underperforming oil fields to local companies, according to Reuters.
Sova Capital said that Rosneft plans to sell some of its brownfields in southern Russia including Samaraneftegas, Orenburgneft, RN-Severnya Neft, Talinskoye, Varyeganneftegas and Sakhalinmoreneftegas.
BCS brokerage noted that Rosneft was planning to sell some of its marginal assets to support its capital for developing its huge project, Vostok Oil, which will develop hydrocarbons in the Russian Arctic.
“Rosneft is currently in negotiations to sell brownfield assets in Southern Russia and elsewhere to ‘high-grade’ Rosneft’s overall asset base. Results of those negotiations should be announced in the coming months,” BCS said.
