Qatar plans to order 60 new liquefied natural gas (LNG) carriers from South Korea, Saad Al-Kaabi Qatari Oil Minister said during a bilateral summit for Doha, Reuters reported.
The chief executive of South Korea’s Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering Company said that most of the LNG carriers owned by Qatar were built by Korea’s top three shipbuilders.
Moreover, Al-Kaabi expects cooperating with experienced Korean shipbuilders on constructing the LNG carriers.
The financial part of the deal is not announced yet.
