Qatar is gearing up to signing more long-term natural gas supply deals in 2024 in order to meet growing global demand, Qatari Energy Minister Saad al-Kaabi stated, according to Al Monitor.
Qatar’s energy minister, who also leads state-owned giant QatarEnergy, announced the company secured sales of 25 million tonnes of liquefied natural gas (LNG) in the past year, and expects to sign further deals this year.
“It’s just agreeing on terms and conditions and pricing… but I think there’s a huge demand out there, whether it’s from Asia or Europe,” Kaabi told the Qatar Economic Forum.
“I think even Europe is realising now they have to do something different to secure long term,” al-Kaabi added.
