Qatar Petroleum Company (QP) announced that the Gulf Sate plans to increase its liquefied natural gas (LNG) production to reach around 110 million tons per year by 2024, Saad Al-Kaabi, QP CEO stated on December 14, according to Reuters.
“We are on plan for 2024,” Al-Kaabi said during the Doha Forum conference.
It is noteworthy that Qatar announced earlier in November that the country’s LNG production is estimated to reach around 126 million tons annually by 2027, up from its current production level of around 77 million tons.
Accordingly, market leaders cannot determine whether Qatar’s new plan was replacing the previous plans for 110 million tons by 2024 and that expansion would only happen by 2027.
