Qatar Petroleum Signs SPA with Pakistan

Qatar Petroleum Company has signed a new long-term Sale and Purchase Agreement (SPA) with Pakistan State Oil Company (PSO) to supply up to 3 million tons (mmt) of Liquified Natural Gas (LNG) to Pakistan, according to a press release.
According to the terms of the ten-years agreement, Pakistan’s terminals will receive LNG shipments staring from 2022 until the end of 2031.
This agreement was signed between Saad Sherida Al-Kaabi, Qatar’s Minister of State for Energy Affairs and President of Qatar Petroleum,  Syed Taha,  Managing Director and CEO of PSO.
in this regard Al-Kaabi said “This agreement further extends Qatar’s long standing LNG supply relationship with Pakistan and highlights our commitment to meeting Pakistan’s LNG requirements.”

We are confident that the exceptional reliability of our LNG supplies will provide PSO with the required flexibility and supply security to fuel Pakistan’s impressive growth.” added the Qatari minister.

It is worth noting that this is the second such agreement between Qatari and Pakistani sides since 2016.
