Qatar and Iraq have signed a number of memoranda of understanding (MoU).
One of the MoUs is for establishing a joint company to build and operate oil tankers that carry crude oil and petroleum products according to the laws in force in both countries, and another MoU is forĀ cooperation to establish a 150,000 barrels per day oil refinery in Iraq, Zawya reported.
Additionally, they also signed an MoU to work together to supply Iraq with liquefied gas and to form partnerships with Qatari firms that are experts in constructing gas receiving stations, related storage facilities, and the necessary infrastructure, such as pipelines and power plants.
The two parties also signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on cooperation to supply Iraqi crude oil to Qatar’s refineries and storage facilities, as well as a number of other MoUs under which Qatar will build residential communities and five-star hotels in Baghdad, manage and run hospitals in a number of Iraqi governorates, and build and establish power plants in a number of Iraqi cities.
