Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly held a meeting with officials from Chevron to explore opportunities for strengthening joint cooperation.
Attendees included Karim Badawi, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources; Frank Cassulo, Vice President of Chevron International Exploration & Production; Kristian Svendsen, Chevron Egypt and Cyprus Country Manager; and Isabel Ordóñez, Government Affairs Manager for the Middle East and Africa at Chevron.
At the beginning of the meeting, Madbouly welcomed the visiting delegation from Chevron, headed by Cassulo, noting Egypt’s aspiration to cooperate with the company as one of the partners working in the field of petroleum exploration. Madbouly stated that Egypt seeks to restore previous production rates of oil and natural gas.
Meanwhile, Cassulo expressed the company’s aspiration to strengthen cooperation with Egypt in light of the fact that Egypt is a strategic partner for the company, thanking the Egyptian government for its support for the company’s activities in Egypt, which helps implement all its plans to increase production.
During the meeting, Svendsen reviewed the company’s efforts in the field of petroleum exploration in its various marine sites in the Mediterranean Sea off the Egyptian coast, in addition to the efforts to develop the company’s current production fields to increase their production.
In turn, Badawi praised the company’s efforts to increase production from its fields, expressing his aspiration to continue cooperation with the company to carry out more explorations that would add to the current production of oil and natural gas.
At the end of the meeting, Madbouly invited the company to participate in the Egypt Energy Show (EGYPES 2025), which will take place in February 2025.
