PMS Installs 2nd Platform for GPC

Petroleum Marine Services (PMS) installed a second platform, weighing 600 tons, for the General Petroleum Company (GPC), Amwal Al Ghad reports.

GPC plans to start operations from the two platforms—HH and NAO—before the end of 2017. The new platforms will increase production to 9,500 barrels per day (b/d) from the associated wells, a source at GPC indicated.

The NAO platform has three levels that contain production facilities. The wells from the NAO platform are projected to produce 6,500 b/d while the wells from the HH platform will produce up to 3,500 b/d.

The entire project is expected to cost $74 million. Upon completion, there will be four wells in the NAO’s zone and five in HH’s zone.
