PMS, Deep Tech Develop Emergency Plan for Zohr

Petroleum Marine Services (PMS) alongside Deep Tech led an engineering alliance to develop a rapid emergency intervention plan for the Zohr project at a depth of 1,500 meters below sea level, according to a statement.

Ashraf Imam, Chairman and Managing Director of PMS, explained that all marine units are ready to carry out any demanding tasks in either shallow or deep waters.

Imam added that the company’s plan depends on the readiness to recharge the marine assets extending 170 kilometers (km) offshore. Moreover, PMS, in cooperation with Belayim Petroleum Company (Petrobel), carried out an experiment to supply the subsurface facilities of the Zohr field with electric current. The experiment is considered  the first of its kind to be carried out at a depth of about 1,500 meters  below sea level.
