PM Mostafa Madbouly, Lebanese Counterpart Discuss Gas Exports, Power Linkage

Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly discussed with his Lebanese counterpart Najib Mikati ways to enhance cooperation in the fields of gas exports and power linkage, according to the Cabinet.

The meeting came on the sidelines of the fourth edition of the World Youth Forum (WYF) in Sharm El-Sheikh.  Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Tarek El Molla, Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy Mohamed Shaker, Lebanon’s Minister of Youth and Sports George Kallas, and the Lebanese Ambassador to Cairo Ali Al-Halabi attended the meeting.

Furthermore, Madbouly stressed the importance of trade exchange facilitation, especially with regards to agricultural products and providing Lebanon with food and humanitarian aid.  He added that the president’s meeting with Mikati came to confirm the political leadership’s keenness to continuously support Lebanon in order to overcome the current critical stage.

For his part, Mikati expressed his appreciation to President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and the Prime Minister for the diligent follow-up on issues of cooperation with Lebanon, and their efforts to support his country in times of adversity.
