Petroleum, Higher Education Ministries to Design Program for Technological  Universities

Tarek El Molla, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, in cooperation with Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, has agreed to design a new technological oil and gas curriculum for new technological universities.

El Molla stated that the petroleum sector welcomes the joint efforts with Higher Education and the Egyptian Petroleum Research Institute (EPRI). He added that his ministry welcomes this collaboration that will make use of  the potentials of petroleum sector and its production sites to serve the program.

For his part, Abel Ghaffar noted that the ministry is interested in designing and implementing a new oil and gas technology program, taking into consideration that the program involves practical exercises  in the oil and gas sector.

EPRI’s Head, Yasser Mostafa, reviewed the institute’s efforts to combat COVID-19 including the National Petrochemical Alliance that produced three types of sanitizers to supply the state’s institutions and the petroleum sector. He also reviewed the institute’s amended budget for fiscal year (FY) 2019/20 and FY 2020/21 in addition to highlighting the importance of activating cooperation agreements with the other authorities.
