Petrofac has been awarded a $1 billion contract from Algeria’s Sonatrach, Petroceltic, and Enel’s Groupment Isarene for the Ain Tsila development project, Pipeline Oil and Gas Magazine reported.
“This award builds on Petrofac’s significant track record in Algeria where we have been operating successfully for more than 20 years, with a strong record for project execution and the development of local capability,” E S Sathyanarayanan, group managing director, Engineering & Construction, said.
Under the 42-months contract, most of the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) project scope of work includes commissioning, start-up and performance testing, Petrofac said in a statement.
Petrofac has many EPC activities in Algeria including Sonatrach’s Tinrhert Field Development Project, the Alrar, and Reggane projects.
