Oman Signs E&P Agreement for Hydrocarbon Exploration

Oman’s Ministry of Energy and Minerals has signed an exploration and production agreement with the American EOG Resources Inc. company to allow the second for exploring hydrocarbons in Block 36 located in the southeast of country, Oman News Agency (ONA) reported.

The agreement was signed by Mohammed bin Hamad Al Rumhy, Minister of Energy and Minerals, and William R. Bill Thomas, CEO and Board Chairman of EOG Resources Inc.

EOG Resources is planning to drill at least two exploratory wells by mid-2022 in the block which covers an area of 18,556 sq kilometers and lies in the Rub Al Khali (Empty Quarter) in the southwest of the country.
