During the weekly press conference, Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly announced that there will be no electricity load shedding in the summer of 2025, affirming the government’s full preparedness to manage the anticipated increase in electricity demand.
In a phone interview on Yahdoth Fi Masr, Mohamed El-Homsani, the official spokesperson for the Egyptian Cabinet, echoed the Prime Minister’s assurances. He noted that the government has been working tirelessly across several fronts to prevent any recurrence of power outages this summer.
“Despite the financial costs, the state is committed to securing all necessary funding to ensure uninterrupted power supply,” El-Homsani said.
He outlined a number of key initiatives, including securing fuel supplies for power plants, enhancing electricity grid interconnections with neighboring countries—especially with Saudi Arabia—and accelerating the development of new and renewable energy projects critical to Egypt’s long-term energy transition.
El-Homsani also emphasized the importance of energy conservation as part of a broader strategy to ensure stability in electricity supply. Through these integrated efforts, the government remains confident in its ability to meet national electricity needs throughout the peak summer months.
