Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Tarek El Molla has held a meeting with a number of officials from the ministry, the Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company (EGAS), and natural gas companies for cars to review the progress of the initiative to promote natural gas as an alternative car fuel.
The meeting reviewed new promotional offers to encourage citizens to pay for the cost of converting their cars to run on natural gas in installments. These offers include various flexible installment systems without interest, as well as incentives for customers.
Gastec and Cargas are offering a new incentive to encourage customers to pay cash for the cost of converting their cars to run on natural gas. Customers who pay in cash will receive a gift card worth EGP 3,375 to use for fuel.
Other offers include interest-free installments for one year, with an exemption from administrative expenses, where through the one-year installment system, the customer receives gifts to fuel his car with gas worth EGP 2,025. Moreover, the offers include installments over 18 months without interest and exemption from administrative expenses. It is also possible to pay installments over two years without interest.
The Minister directed the heads of Gastec and Cargas to work quickly to meet the demands of customers wishing to convert their cars to natural gas, and to provide all necessary information to respond to customer inquiries.
