New Discovery of North Hammad to Produce 32 mmcf/d of Natural Gas

The Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Tarek El Molla, announced that the new discovery of North Hammad concession in Delta is going to initially produce natural gas at a rate of 32 million cubic feet per day (mmcf/d), a press release issued by the Cabinet reported.

These results came after conducting several tests on the new well. El Molla elaborated that Eni company which is the operator of this concession and its partners companies of BP and Total will make a plan to link the well to the production line  in cooperation with the Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company (EGAS) as soon as possible by exploiting the available  infrastructure in the area.

On other side, the production rate of South West Meleiha concession in the Western Dessert increased to 12000 barrels per day (bbl/d) of crude oil since its start of production in 2019. This is resulted from the successful drill of new well SWM-A-6X in the Faghour Field at a depth of 15,800 feet.

Such success reflects the strategy of the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources of expanding exploration and discovery activities in different offshore and onshore Egyptian areas to develop the oil and gas resources in cooperation with the major companies by using latest technologies.
