MRMIA Sets September 8–11 Closing Dates for New Mineral Exploration Bids

The Mineral Resources and Mining Industries Authority (MRMIA) has announced September 8–11, 2026, as the closing dates for bidding on 21 exploration blocks, including gold, phosphate, kaolin, and talc.

According to the authority, bids for gold blocks Bf81 and Ee70, along with phosphate blocks Ph15 and Ph33, will close on September 8.

The following day, September 9, will mark the closing date for bids on gold blocks Bc81 and Bd81, as well as kaolin block Ks1.

On September 10, bids will close for a larger group of blocks, including gold blocks Cd80, Ce78, Ce79, Ce80, Cf72, Cf75, Cg75, Df70, Ec68, and Ec70, as well as kaolin blocks Kk2 and Kk7, and talc block T3.

Bids for phosphate block Ph22 will close on September 11.

If any of the announced closing dates coincides with an official holiday, the deadline will be extended to the first working day following the holiday, MRMIA noted.

The bidding is occurring through the authority’s Open Blocks System (OBS), which allows companies to apply for mineral exploration blocks at any time, without waiting for a fixed bid round closing date.

The authority announced on August 31 the closing dates for bidding on 13 talc and gold mining blocks, which closed between September 1 and 4, 2026.
